Ryan's first day of Kindergarten

Ryan was very excited about his first day of Kindergarten! When we got to the classroom Ryan wasn't nervous at all. In fact, Oma and I were talking to the teacher and then all the sudden we couldn't find him. We looked around nervously and then looked over where the other kids were and he had already sat down on his own and started reading books! Yeah Ryan!

 

 

 

 

Beach cottage visit 2009

Annual Trip to the beach is coming up! Here is what Ryan is excited about:

Mommy: "Ryan - What are you most excited about for our trip to the beach?"
Ryan: "The new car"
Mommy: "The new car? You mean the rental car we will drive?"
Ryan: "Yes the rental Car"
Mommy: (laughing inside, I was thinking for sure he was going to say the beach or seeing his cousins, Grandpa and his Aunts/Uncles, not the Rental Car!!!)

Ryan: (Then he thinks about it some more and says) - "that he is most excited about the boat Ride!"

Such a boy...anything with an engine makes him excited!

HA!!!

A Potato or is it a Tornado

Last week there were tornadoes that hit around the area and sirens went off on Wednesday night. I was out of town last week and Jordan on Thursday when I got home was recapping the week.

Jordan: "Mommy, the Sirens when on"
Mommy: "The sirens went off?"
Jordan: "No, mommy the sirens went ON"
Mommy: I am thinking I can see how she her mind wanted to correct me. It wasn't worth explaining this to a three year old why we say the sirens went off.
Jordan: Yeah, mommy there was a Potato that was coming
Mommy: Laughing ofourse.

Jordan has this tendency to take like words or same sound words and use them as replacements. It makes me laugh every time!

Ryan plays T-Ball!!

Ryan joined his first T-Ball team. He does a great job of hitting the ball typically on the first hit. He is learning quickly how to catch the ground balls and throw them to first! He loves it! Like Father like son.

Memorial Day Party

Pics from the Memorial Day Party!! Party went 12 hours! The boys (and 2 ladies) played poker after the swimming, why the ladies and the kids turned the living room into a dance party. Good times!

Canyon of the Eagles Trip

For Mother's day we spent the weekend at Canyon of the Eagles for Mother's day.

Jordan's first pedicure at age 3!

Mommy had to go out of town over the weekend for Katie Howard's wedding. I brought Ryan with me but left Jordan home with Daddy. I was feeling guilty about this, so I asked Oma (Shawn's mom) to spoil Jordan for the weekend. My mother-in-law decided to take Jordan for her first pedicure and manicure!! I didn't get one of those until I was 24!!


When it was all done, Oma told me that she said "Now take it off". :-)

Band-aids

I debating putting this on the blog due to it being so personal. But, I thought it was so funny that I couldn't resist!

Mommy is in the bathroom (putting a maxi pad on)
Ryan happens to walk in

Ryan "Mommy, Why are you putting a band-aid in your underwear?"

Mommy - I try to hold back from laughing. And don't really know how to respond. I debate, to I explain this and decide..naah not sure we are ready for this discussion. "Ryan, you will understand later when you are older"

Ryan and Dinosaurs

Mommy is reading a dinosaur book to Ryan.

Mommy - "Ryan would you like to have a big Dinosaur come live with us?":-)
Ryan - "Yes, as long as it is not a meat eater, only plant eaters"
Mommy shocked that he knows there are two kinds says "Why?"
Ryan - "Since I am meat and he would eat me."

Jordan is potty training!

Jordan is doing a great job on her potty training. Within one weekend we spent talking to her about it and having her wear underwear and by the end of the week she got it! This was a piece a cake compared to Ryan. But number 2 is been a bit of a nightmare. Jordan is struggling in this area. She thinks if she sits down or we hold her it will go away. She doesn't understand it is coming whether she wants it too or not!!
