Ryan was MVP this week at school. He was so excited! At Ryan's school they choose a student each week to speak about themselves. They decorated this poster board that looks like a T-Shirt. Ryan picked out all the pictures of his favorite things and then we grouped them by category. Ryan had fun cutting and putting all the stickers on the poster. He also had to fill out a sheet of his favorite things and is going to bring up is favorite book - "Up above and Down Below".
I have to say, I don't who enjoys this more me or him! I am having a lot of fun with his projects at school. Great bonding time for mommy and Ryan.

Your hurt my thought
I just love when Jordan does this since it makes me laugh. Jordan has this tendency that you can tell from previous blogs to mix up words. Lately, she has been saying rather than "you hurt my feelings" or "you broke my heart" (she says this often which is also cute), "You hurt my thought". ha! very cute.

Halloween Pics
Below are some pictures from Halloween! Notice that Ryan is carrying a sword with his pirate costume. The sword's life only lasted a few minutes later since Ryan dropped it in the drive way and didn't pick it up so daddy ran over it on accident. The sword is now in a thousand pieces in the trash can. Ryan was not too happy.
Jordan was all about her ruby slippers and her dog toto as Dorothy and I had fun dressing as a pregnant prom queen!
We went up to McKinney for trick or treating and spent the evening with the Von, Tina and the kids. Jordan lasted more then 5 houses this year! She got really into it. Shawn took her and Ryan around and he said that she socialized with every person handing out candy, telling them she like their dog or decorations, etc. Von and Shawn ended up carrying the boys trick or treat bags but Jordan was insistent that she carry hers the whole time. Haley had about 30 9th and 10th graders at the house (mostly boys!) which was interesting! ha! Luckily they were all just eating candy and sodas and nothing else (or at least that we know of). Braden and Ryan witnessed some kissing going on that they reported back to us! Also, the police showed up because of all the kids out front. He was nice though and was just telling them to not run out in front of cars.

September Sunday
Shawn was still out of town on a guy trip with his buddies from high school. The weather was finally cool enough to go outside and play. So, Ryan was begging me all morning and early afternoon to play outside and I told him only after the house is clean, so Ryan volunteered to help. He help sweep the floor for the first time and wiped down the counters. It was great! Jordan helped pick up the playroom. The pool was too cold so we played in the front yard for 3 hours. Jordan and Ryan played tic tac toe and Jordan kept beating Ryan over and over again.:-) We played hopscotch and soccer too. Ryan also had fun playing with mommy's camera and took some photos. You will see that he just had to take one of his soccer ball.:-) Overall great day!
Dallas Arboretum in the Fall
Shawn was out of town this weekend on a boy trip. I took the kids with the ligons to the Dallas Arboretum for the fall festival. They had a blast running around the place.
Labor Day weekend
Here are some pics from labor day weekend. The mansells came up for the weekend. We had a big party on Sunday of about 30 people. Great party but too busy to take any photos. Here are some pictures from Monday. The kids couldn't get enough of the pool! They are starting to get more aggressive and comfortable with the pool this year as you will see from the pics.
Colorado Trip
We took trip in August to Colorado. It was beautiful. We enjoyed spending time with the Dvoracek and McCleary familys and also enjoyed some time with my friend from high school Ellen and her family. The kids LOVED the mountains and Aunt Marge and Uncle Jake's dogs!

Ryan's first day of Kindergarten
Ryan was very excited about his first day of Kindergarten! When we got to the classroom Ryan wasn't nervous at all. In fact, Oma and I were talking to the teacher and then all the sudden we couldn't find him. We looked around nervously and then looked over where the other kids were and he had already sat down on his own and started reading books! Yeah Ryan!

Annual Trip to the beach is coming up! Here is what Ryan is excited about:
Mommy: "Ryan - What are you most excited about for our trip to the beach?"
Ryan: "The new car"
Mommy: "The new car? You mean the rental car we will drive?"
Ryan: "Yes the rental Car"
Mommy: (laughing inside, I was thinking for sure he was going to say the beach or seeing his cousins, Grandpa and his Aunts/Uncles, not the Rental Car!!!)
Ryan: (Then he thinks about it some more and says) - "that he is most excited about the boat Ride!"
Such a boy...anything with an engine makes him excited!
HA!!!

A Potato or is it a Tornado
Last week there were tornadoes that hit around the area and sirens went off on Wednesday night. I was out of town last week and Jordan on Thursday when I got home was recapping the week.
Jordan: "Mommy, the Sirens when on"
Mommy: "The sirens went off?"
Jordan: "No, mommy the sirens went ON"
Mommy: I am thinking I can see how she her mind wanted to correct me. It wasn't worth explaining this to a three year old why we say the sirens went off.
Jordan: Yeah, mommy there was a Potato that was coming
Mommy: Laughing ofourse.
Jordan has this tendency to take like words or same sound words and use them as replacements. It makes me laugh every time!
